Dogs adopted to Mountain Musher Dog Sled Rides

On October 25th, 2019, we adopted 8 of our dogs out to Mountain Musher Dog Sled Rides in Vail (Wolcott), Colorado.

Still developing. Had trouble with a dog behind him, but that is mostly done. Likes to establish a relationship in the beginning of the trip by getting in his partners face, but it comes from a place of insecurity. Can be intimidating to some dogs. Occasionally puts his mouth on the gangline, but doesn't really chew.
Public description:
Bailey is still growing up, and acts like a puppy most of the time. He likes the attention after the ride.

Consistent worker and gets along well with most other dogs. A great partner for Pinky. Does well at lead but if his partner wants to wander, Blaze kinda lets him. often has trouble staying tight at rest stops.
Public description:
Blaze came to us from a local, recreational kennel via the shelter in 2011. He didn't work out at his first adopted home. His energy sometimes gets him in trouble with the other dogs when he nips at them. He runs in harness very well.

Goofy. Gets in the face of his partner. Puts his mouth on the gangline during the first half a mile, but doesn't chew. Has periods where he doesn't pull at all, mostly at the beginning of his second trip of the day.

Good leader. Will slack off on her second trip, so needs a good pulling partner when at lead.
Public description:
She has turned out to be a great dog for us. She runs lead pretty well, and is the most quiet of her litter. She's not as snuggly as some of her siblings, but still likes to get pets from guests after the ride.

Good worker. Can run near the front, and should try at lead again.
Public description:
Super duper friendly. He has taken a few unguided hikes from the yard, and he ends up in a nearby neighborhood on porches wagging his tail. He can run with just about any dog as a partner (except for Lilly, who does not like him.)

Can run anywhere, but he is a boy who likes to pee on things. Enthusiastic and happy. Can be a strong eliminator.
Public description:
Very friendly and social guy. His house is near the kennel tour area, so he loves when groups of people get to pet him during the tour.

Pulls well. Will turn and snarl at girls behind her. Best near the back with a boy. Doesn't put up with partner antics.
Public description:
Leggy and fast, Lighthouse has a great disposition and desire to please. She is still a puppy so she goofs off a little but you can see her desire to please. Leader qualities

A beast! Super strong and hard puller. Fairly focused, so did well when not in wheel position too. Likes to bark and nip at his partner when the team gets going.
Public description:
Rooster is a big guy with a big mouth. He loves attention from the guests after rides. As big as he is, he can be a little timid around the other dogs.
